Abstract
A clinical observation on the cases of medical complication in pregnancy during the period of January 19 ! 61 to June 30, 1964 was made with statistical analysis.
The results were as follows
1. The number of anemic patients was 354 out of 1979 total deliveries, an incidence 17.8%.
2. Subdivision of 354 cases was made according to the registration in antenatal clinic ; the registrated group was 13% and non resistered group was 26% respectively.
3. The severe anemic patients were more predominant in nonregistered multiparous cases.
4. The number of active tuberculosis patients was 17, incidence 0.16% which is much less than the national figure of 5
5. In spite of recomendation of doctor 81% of the active Tb Patient breast feed their babies.
6. Subdivision of 17 cases was made according to the clinical classificatcon; Far advanced; 2 cases(0.11 % ), moderately advanced; 5 cases(30%), minimal; 10 cases(59%) respectively.
7. The number of heart cases was 9 out of 1979 cases of the total dreliveries, incidence 0.45%.
8. Subdivision of 9 cases was made according to the diseases; Rheumatic heart disease : cases(77%); Congenital heart disease : 2 cases(23y ), respectively. Clinical classification; Class 1; 4 cases(44%) Class 2; 4 cases(44%); Class 3; 1 cases(0.12%).
9. The number of diabetic cases was 2, thus its incidence 0.1%.
10. The number of suspected prediabetic cases was 49, Oral glucose tolerence test was obtained in 15 cases out of 49 cases; abnormal cases was in 7 cases.
